I honestly can’t believe I am so close to my due date. Sometimes I wonder if I am really ready and prepared for what’s to come. It is just too many things to think about at once.
The baby shower will be in a couple of days an thank God I didn’t do any of the planning. I think I would have gone crazy if I had to do planning for the shower while getting prepared for the baby. Can you believe that we even have to write a list of things that the baby needs and not wants? It’s really hard to tell the difference.
Being a new mom is not going to be easy, and I wouldn’t want it to, but it really seems hard at times. There are moments where I sit in my bed and think to myself, “It’s a big responsibility to be in charge of someone’s life; to carry all their medical stuff and social security card and things.” What if in the middle of the night the baby starts crying and I don’t know what is wrong with him. It really is frightening to not know.
Anyway, besides the baby coming my birthday is coming as well… Yay!!!!! I am getting older though; Turning 22 years old. It is kind of weird. I guess I will let you guys know how labor and all that fun stuff went on my next blog!! I hope everyone has r had a nice summer…. Back to school now and learning new things.

After a break of about a year, the Florida Youth Council is restarting its blog. The Florida Youth Council’s blogs are meant to start discussion among youth and emerging leaders with disabilities. We hope to keep everyone engaged with interesting articles from all members of the council. We may even look at allowing guest bloggers to write articles as well in the future. For now, keep an eye out for new blogs being posted on the Florida Youth Council blog page. I hope enjoy the blogs and leave a comment or two. If there is a topic you would like someone to write about, please let us know by either commenting on a blog or sending an e-mail to Alex Brown at abrown@familycafe.net.

On August 7-8, the Florida Youth Council hosted The 2nd Annual Youth Summit in Orlando. All the members of the FYC felt that the event was a huge success, but that doesn’t mean anything if you the people who went didn’t enjoy it. That’s why we’re asking for your opinion.
If you went to The 2nd Annual Youth Summit, please take a moment to tell us what you liked or what you didn’t like. How would like to see the event improved? If you didn’t go to the event, tell what you would like to see at an event like the Youth Summit? We will be collecting all of this info along with the evaluations form to try and improve for The 3rd Annual Youth Summit in 2010. You can comment right on the blog, or if you would feel more comfortable, you can e-mail your comments to Alex Brown at abronw@familycafe.net
